Some Things Just Stink

Hi Guys!
This week at The Kraft Journal we want to see cards that make us smile.
I'll admit that this isn't your typical "happy" card but rather a commiseration card. The sentiment fits and hopefully that will grab a smile from the recipient.
If not, my efforts have gone down the toilet. ;)

Recipe:
IMage: Mo Manning
Papers: MME, buff cardstock
Colors: Prismacolors on Kraft

Hope to see you all around Blogland! My blogger dashboard is finally working normally so its easier for me to blog hop. Thanks for bearing with me. :)

Bedtime Story

Hi Everyone!
Well we are on week two of our GD call at Mo's Digital Pencil! For all you hopefuls out there you have til the end of the month to enter in our challenges and put GD after your name to be considered.
Exciting times!
So this week's challenge is:
Hugs and Kisses
I decided to use Mo's "Bedtime Story" for my card. Its an older image and is not listed in the new shop yet but if you put a flea in Mo's ear she will definitely add it, no problem.

I've used prismacolors and Lyras on kraft cardstock and various scraps of designer paper. The burlap, twine, vintage ticket stub and cardboard button are from The Kraft Outlet and ticket sentiments are Whimsy. I used distress inks and white craft paint to add age and interest.

Thats it from me! I can't wait to see all your projects and have a wonderful weekend!

Rock A Bye Baby

Hi Guys!
So its "Rock-A-Bye Baby" at the Kraft Journal this week!
Time to get out your wee wittle buttons and soft happy colors and get caught up on baby cards. :)
I chose to make a clean and simple card. At least, its as clean and simple as I get. I liked the simplicity and serenity of the image and just didn't want to "disturb the peace" with too many embellies.
Hope you think it was a good idea, too. ;)

Hope I haven't put you to sleep!
Have a great week, everyone!

You Take My Heart With You

Hi Guys!
I hope you all had a great weekend. :)
Today's challenge at the Kraft Journal was a little tricky for me cos I never put these colors together.
Red, White and Blue
I decided to use this theme to make a going away card for an older friend who is moving away to be cared for by her daughter. The tag pulls out and says, "Wherever you go you take our heart with you".
She's one of those people who can be at deaths door, gasping for a breath and when you ask her how she is she'll whisper, "Oh I'm all right baby how are you?"
She's such a sweetheart.

A Grad Gift

Hi Guys!
Well this week's challenge at The Kraft Journal is to make a Graduation project. I have to admit that graduation cards are not my favorite to make. Perhaps I speculate that all a graduate really wants to know is if there's any money inside the card! lol So preempting that, I decided to make a simple gift card holder in pink for a girl. These could be switched up to make for just about any occasion by changing the focal "button".

Recipe:
Tattered Rose Distress Ink
MME paper

I hope you enjoyed seeing today's little project. :)

Truffles For Two

Hi Everyone!
I decided to make something a little different for today. I had ordered these cute truffle boxes a while ago and thought they'd look awesome all decorated. Keep in mind they fit a truffle so they're small so forgive me for not over embellishing they're a wee bit well, wee.
So this week's challenge at The Kraft Journal is:
Remembering You
So this project would be great for an anniversary gift.

Recipe:
Whimsy banner stamps

And so you can get an idea of the size, here is a picture below of one box next to a ferrero rochierre (have no idea how to spell that~ I don't spend much time looking at the package when I'm wolfing them down. lol). They're about the same size as a truffle. This box would also be perfect for miniature peanut butter cups. Especially , you know, if you buy a bag for a friend and eat most of them yourself, you can still package up the remainder and they think youre so thoughtful.

Unfortunately I tied the twine before I added the candy so.....I sure would hate to untie that perfect knot.....oh well, best not let chocolate go to waste :)
Happy Eat Crafting!

Swine Flu

Hi Everyone!
Ok, maybe swine flu is a thing of the past but allergies still rule!!
This week's challenge at The Kraft Journal is:
Use Your Stash
No problemo mi amigo!
Ive got lots of stash and I do like to use up some leftover bits every now and then, too. So Ive been saving my remaining bits of cardstock from  81/2 x11 sheets of cardstock that I make a 51/2 x51/2 cards from (which leaves a length of 3x11). I just score those 3x11s in half and make small notelets like this one.

Recipe:
Colors: Prismacolors and Lyras
Lunch Bag Kraft (for coloring)
Paper: MME "Fine and Dandy Girl" and "Market Street"
Punch: Martha Stewart
Dies: Spellbinders
White Gel Pen (for faux stitching)
button (from stash)

So I hope that inspired you a little bit today, I'll be looking out for your creations this week and hope you can play along with us at The Kraft Journal!

Better Weather Is Coming

Hi Guys!
Well this week at The Kraft Journal the theme is
April Showers Bring May Flowers
I will admit that this card doesn't look very "sunny" per se' but I decided to play on the "April Showers" theme by making a support card for a dear friend going through some "gloomy weather" right now.
Of course, there are flowers on here too so the rain has produced something. :)

Recipe:
Image: Mo Manning
Colors: Lyras and Prismacolors on Kraft
Paper: My Minds Eye
Buttons and flowers: from stash
Dies: Spellbinders

So I hope you all can play along with us!
Happy Crafting!

Spring Is In The Air

Hi Guys!
Well ,SPRING IS IN THE AIR at the Kraft Journal!
This week we want to see all your Springy projects. I got to thinking that Spring for me means hearing all the frogs and crickets again, I just love to listen to them although it can get quite deafening sometimes, living on a large pond. There's got to be about 100,000 frogs and every one of them has something important to say. :)
Anyway, they're cute. :)

Recipe:
Image: Stampin Up
Colors: Prismacolor Pencils
Papers: MME "Breeze" and "Sunshine"
Button

Thats it from me today!
Happy crafting everyone!!

So Romantic

Hi Everyone!
So this week's challenge with the Kraft Journal is : So Romantic.
As some of you may know, I'm not really the romantic type of cardmaker so I did the best I could under the circumstances. lol
I love this image by ADFD, kind of art nouveau  romantic. I colored her with my usual prismas and lyras on kraft. It's a bit of a quirky color combination, I'll admit it, but it felt right at the time and made sense. Now? Well, I'm trying not to think too hard on it.  It is puzzling. lol.

Recipe:
Image: ADFD
Colors: Lyras and Prismacolors
Papers: DCWV
Punch: Martha Stewart
Card Candy: Joanna Sheen

Thanks for visiting and I hope you get some crafting time in this week!
Hugs All
