A Happy Hello

A Happy Hello to everyone!
Today's card i made just for the fun of it. The only challenge theme I based it on was a sketch and then when I was done I looked for a few other challenges it might fit into. But it was fun just to create for the sake of creating, you know what I mean?
And look, guys! No fall colors! I'm rebelling. lol

Recipe:
Dps: Assorted
Colors: Prismacolors
Bling: Assorted

As you can see I'm messing around with the Kraft paper again. I just like the vibrancy of color you can achieve. And up close it has an almost painted effect.
Don't worry, guys. I still love my pencil on white too! I haven't given it up or anything.

Some details....

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

OSAAT: Embellish with fave embellies: (buttons, 3Dimentionals, ribbon)
Cupcake Craft Challenge: Boys and their toys
Everybody Art Challenge: Green blue and brown
Tip Top Tuesday: AnythingGoes

I hope you all have a great day!!

Creative Inspirations Challenge ~ Fall / (Feeling Nutty...but nice)

Hi Everybody!
Well I said I wouldn't be back til the weekend was over but I lied! :-)
No, actually I forgot that I had a DT assignment coming "public" today so I had to get my booty in gear and write this up. (had the card made for ages now, cos I'm one of those too punctual people that drives everyone nuts!~ no pun intended!)
But i am feeling rather... nutty...
So, back to the challenge! Creative Inspirations challenge this fortnight is Halloween/Fall. But as I don't do Halloween, I took them up on the Fall option, which was quite fun.
Recipe:
Image: Mo Manning
Colors: Prismacolors
Paper: No idea (Its a personal branch of the "Me and My Big Ideas" line. lol!)
Crazy Grunge Stitching: Another crazy idea of mine to go with the
embellies: acorns!

Some close ups:
the grunge stitching...

and clever little acorns I sent my daughter out to find..

So, if they'll have me , I would like to enter this in the following:

Little Red Wagon: something old something new (new digi, old acorns)
Color Throwdown: color theme
Raise The Bar: Get a Hobby (collecting)

I hope you all can join in on the challenge at Creative Inspirations! You have a whole fortnight to make something fallish! :-)

The Big One

Hi!

So is anyone sick of seeing pumpkins and colored leaves yet? Is the whole "fall " thing getting to you yet? I think I'll be ready for it to go bye bye very shortly!  lol  And its a shame, really,  cos orange and green are some of my fave colors too, but blogland is making me sick of them!
But I loved this little guy with his pumpkin (kids always grab the biggest of anything!) and of course, orange was the logical color. There's always the exception.... I distinctly remember taking our daughter to a pumpkin patch in kindergarden and she came home with this tiny white pumpkin and I was like, "You wanted  that?!" You know, I'd be grabbin the BIG one!

My recipe:
Papers: Assorted, and Coredinations
Image: Mo Manning
Colors: Prismacolors
Punches: Martha Stewart
Netting: Magic Scraps
Nesties

I did have fun coloring this little guy :-)

You like my little pumpkin button? I thought that was pretty clever of me. lol It was the feel good moment of the whole card.... that and adding the stem...it wasn't originally a giant pumpkin, you know, just a circle,  but I was very pleased when it came to me. Please don't tell me it's corny you'll burst my bubble...:-)

This card fits the following challenges:

Paper Playtime: Orange as main color

Thanks for coming by today.
I'm afraid this will probably be it for the weekend but I'll see you around next week!

Friends /WOYWW

Hi Guys!
I'm in a better mood today. :-) Know why? New technique, that's why!
I wish I could say I thought of it myself, but I didn't, but that's ok.The main thing is that I have something new to occupy myself!  I found out about this technique while going through my blog updates a few days ago. A talented girl named Judy is going to be doing a class on coloring on Kraft. You can check out her blog here.

I never thought I would be buying Kraft. In fact, I've seen it for some time in the stores and thought "what is the world coming to when they want you to buy brown paper bags? Hello? This is just cardboard is it not?" Well, it is and it isn't. Its cardstock thickness (not cardboard) and its the texture of a brown paper bag. So when it comes to laying down color on it, it has more "tooth" so it can take more layers than your typical white cardstock.
It's pretty exciting. I haven't had that rush of crafting contentment in a long time~ :-)
It almost turns your prismacolors into pastels or chalk. Its an entirely different effect than normal paper.

My recipe:
papers: DCWV and Kraft
Image: Mo Manning
Colors: Prismacolors
Ribbon: Offray
Flowers: Recollection
Sentiment: Stampin Up

A close up:

And some details:

And this part below is for the folks over at the Stampin Ground who want to see our messes today! This was my card in progress...(partially cleaned up now)

As you can see from the picture below, Ive printed out more images on Kraft so you can expect to see more Krafty goodness in the coming posts. (til I get sick of it and move on to something else!)

And as for the card, I would like to enter it in the following challenges:
Stamptacular Sunday: BFF~ Buttons, flowers, friendship
Simon Says: 3 embellies, 2 dp, 1 image (I might have one or two more...)
ABC Challenge: F is for flowers

Thanks for all your support guys, your sweet words and support mean a lot to me.

Nicecrane Designs~ Trifold ATC template

Hi All!
I've got something a litte different for you today. :-)
Ignacio over at Nicecrane Designs has designed something special for us all to play with. A trifold shutter ATC template! How cool is that! You can check it out here
So although this looks like a normal size card, its not. Its 3 1/2" x 2 1/2 ".
So cute!

For my images used here, I've made use of Nicecrane's ATC background sheet called "Aesop's Fables" . I just love this sheet!
Here are some close ups so you can see the different pictures on the card:

Oh! Below I used a tiny piece of yet another of Nicecrane's ATC background sheets, one called "gothic arches". You can have a look here. It's so versatile. I turned it on it's side and used just the top circle of the arch as a background for my peacock.

Don't you love the fox and the hare? And the town mouse/ city mouse?

And all folded up, with my hand in the way so you get an idea of it's size.

So that's what I have to share for now. It was kinda nice to make an ATC. It's been a few weeks and there's something relaxing about getting your fingers all inky and sticky with itty bitty pieces! lol
I can't wait to stop by on on all my bloggin buddie's blogs and see what you've done today :-)
Hugs, Dorcas

Dutch Dare Card Challenge ~ Tagalicious

Well today is a new challenge day over at  Dutch Dare Card Challenges.
The theme is Tagalicious. Which meant, of course, that I had to make a tag! (duh!) I know, it sounds simple enough but I haven't made many tags in the last couple of years (I used to with scrapbooking). But I took a deep breath and did it. :-)

A close up of the image which is a house mouse stamp, colored with Prismacolors. (I actually went in later after I took the picture and aded a bit more color to the mouse's fur. I felt he needed it.) He looks better now, but you'll have to take my word for it. :-)

And the tag...

And its always good to "spread the mess" as far as possible! Look at that one piece of paper that made it almost all the way into the kitchen! lol It was probably stuck to my sock....

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

Totally Papercrafts: The great outdoors
Paper Sundaes: something from your stash (brads which Ive had for eons!!)
Ooh la la: Nothing floral
