A Bucket Of Sunshine

Hi Everyone!
Today's challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil is to
make or use a tag in your creation.
I'm not one for making many tags and didn't know quite what to do which is why you find a bucket shaped sentiment that I hope will pass for a tag. :-)
The flip flop started off as an ingenious idea until I stuck it down (with scortape need I add) and couldn't remove it. :-/

Anyway!
My recipe:
Image: Mo Manning
Colors: Prismacolors
Papers: Doodlebug Designs
Flip Flop: free form from my own not so brilliant imagination

What Would I Do Without You

Hi All!
Today I'm introducing you to a new designer.
 Mabelle R.O. of WhimsyAndStars.
She's actually not a new designer at all, she's just new to me and before you ask, no, her shop is not related to Whimsy Stamps. Totally different. So today (and this summer as Guest Designer) I have the privilege of showcasing one of  her cutie patootie images called "Girl With Kitty". You can find it here.

My recipe:
Colors: prismacolors with paper piecing
Papers: K& Co.
Postage stamp sentiment: Whimsy Stamps
'Without You' Sentiment: Scrapalicious
Die: Spellbinders
Sewing: Machine done on a Singer Touch and Sew
Buttons and ribbon: from stash

Isn't she adorable? And kitty too?

So I'm also using this card as part of my DT assignment over at The Catered Crop.
Here's what's cooking today:

This was the card of inspiration  created by Hannah Clark:

And here is the ingredients Hannah utilized which we'll be mixing and matching to make our own creation with:
(My ingredients are in red)

 Colors – blue, brown, kraft and green
* Stamps and Stickers – nature, birds and birdy things
* Color Mediums – Copic, craft aint
* Embellishments – pearls, beads, stick pins, crocheted/lace ribbon, recycled cardboard (fun!)
* Tools – paper piercer, sewing machine, distress tools, die cuts
* Techniques – paper piercing, sewing, distressing
* Theme – nature, birds, shabby chic

OK, so I know my card looks nothing like Hannah's and you're probably wondering why I didn't jump on the egg and fowl theme. Just givin you all a beak, I mean break. I'm not sick or anything:-)

So I hope you can all join in the fun at Catered Crop as well as pop over to Maybelle's etsy shop and check out her goods. She's got something for everybody unless you like ugly scary monsters or something, but hey, even so she's got some flies on a picnic, who would've thought flies could be cute? I think its the big drippy eyes. The "puss in boots" look lol
Anyway check it out. :-)
```````````````````````````````````````````
Also , before you all run away I have a teaser sneak peak for you of Mabelle's upcoming new Summer release on JUne 18th. All being well I will have a card to share with you on the day. :-)
Cuddly Buddly ~ New Home
Hi Guys!
Am I on a roll this week or what?
This is a card I made for our other friends who lost their home in the tornado. They're in the process of rebuilding so I thought this would be perfect. It's also an introduction card I made for the DT at Cuddly Buddly.  Just loooove their images!
My recipe:
Colors: Prismacolors
Papers: DCWV
Ribbon: Crafty Ribbons
Banner: die set from Whimsy Stamps
Buttons : from stash
Sorry for the blurriness on the close up:
The inside sentiment:
OK! Gotta run! Got grocery shopping to do!
Have a great weekend!!
May The Sun Shine Upon You
Hi Everyone!
This card was made for Phindy's weekly challenge, which happens to be:
Water
I could go for some water right now its stinkin hot out and my only pool is reserved for my ducks.(as is my bathtub but we wont go there. lol)
My recipe:
Image: Phindy's
Colors: Prismacolors
Paper: DCWV
Sentiment: My own
Punch: Martha Stewart
Ribbon: Crafty Ribbons
So how cute is this, right? I decided to make the little girl AA, her hair lended itself toward it, actually I think that's what she's supposed to be anyway. As you can see, I'm still a bit nervous about making the skin too dark. I will eventually get my courage up to make a true black skinned character. But not today. :-)
A close up:
I had trouble copy and pasting my sentiment into the format I needed to share it so that the structure was distorted. I tried several different ways but in the end ditched the project. I think it was due to an incompatible font. Anyway, sorry, no sentiment to share today. :-( Its the thought that counts.
Challenges that this card qualifies for:
Cooking It Up With Katie -  Blue, splash, circle
Paper Pretties -  Summer
Color Throwdown - color*
A Spoonful Of Sugar -  Summer - Colours, images etc
Crazy Amigo Challenge - Summery Card
Digital Tuesday - In The Garden/Outdoors
The Outlawz Sentiment required - Summer theme.
And a little snoop around the craft space. Stacey came over the other day to craft and look at the mess she made. LOL
OK. The mess is mine. At one point she came over to my side of the table and took away my garbage bin. She said, "I'll take this since you're not using it anyway." The cheek!
Oh well.
 I did clean up afterwards. :-) Really. But you'll have to trust me on that one.
It was worth it, though.
 And a duckie update:
(this is inside the pen which is about 20 feet by 20 feet.)
 Yes, the water is murky but is pumped from the pond and this is the South and all pond water is brown.
It's just how it is.
And a nasty snapping turtle I caught the other day. This guy is nasty!!
He will rip a finger off no questions asked.
My fingers came nowhere near him, btw.
OK, I guess I delayed you long enough!
Have fun crafting everyone!
Everyone needs a Daily Laugh!
Dale Price waving at his son's bus on the last day of the school year. (courtesy of waveatthebus.blogspot.com)
I just came across the most hilarious story in Yahoo news. I always thought that I had an interesting childhood with my Dad dressing up as a clown while he drove bus, but this guy takes the cake!
It started on his son's first day of highschool. The boy's Mom suggested to Dear Hubby that they go wave to him in the schoolbus to embarrass him. Which they did. Check!
What followed was a daily hazing ritual with the boy's Dad dressing up in  over180 outrageous outfits to wave at the bus in.
I read the article and my one word was YES!!!
Let's face it. People today are uptight.
Look at the following pictures and I promise this will brighten your day! This is good medicine right here!
Below we have:
I do.
 Miss you.
Already.
 Though you've only been gone three minutes.I promise to be by your side every morning for the rest of the schoolyear. Mwah!
Lowering property values one wave at a time:
And the chicken. I say, eat more beef.
My absolute favorite is this one below. Loooooove it!!
If you'd like to read the full article you can check it out here. Or, even more fun check out the family's daily blog complete with daily pictures here.
I tell you one thing, ok, two: I bet that kid was the most popular in school after that first embarrassing day and two, I bet no one on that bus route missed a day of school all year! I wouldn't have!
Your New Roost
So this must be the week for sketches cos I've got another one for you!
This week at Phindy's Place we're challenging you to use the following sketch:
Sketch+AM003a
At first I was thinking it rather difficult but that's cos my eyes kinda crossed when I was looking at it and I envisioned another stripe in there. lol Hey ,hang on just a cotton pickin minute.... maybe there is another stripe in there! Good grief I think I did it wrong. Oh ! No I didn't. *phew*. I'm using my punched borders as the top and bottom stripe. Sometimes its like looking at one of those Escher pictures that can be two pictures in one, you know the type? Is it a vase or two silhouettes....if you cross your eyes just right you can see both , just don't let the east wind catch you!
OK, so onto the card!
I made this for one of our friends who lost their home in last month's tornado. Their house remains have now been bulldozed and they'll be rebuilding in the next few months, so I thought this was perfect. Lets hope they do!
Recipe:
Paper: DCWV
Punch: Martha Stewart
Metal Corners: Wild Orchid Crafts (thanks, Iulia!)
Image: Phindy
Colors: Prismacolors on Kraft Cardstock
And the inside! Aren't I doing well finishing my cards?
*clap clap clap*
And yes, you are welcome to snag the sentiment as always. Just click, right click and save or go to the Free Sentiments box in my sidebar and download the size you want.
A few challenges:
Freshly Brewed -  masculine
Just Because
 Hi All!
 I hope your day has started off well. :-)
Today's card I made using one of the cutest Mo images ever! I don't know why but I just love this one. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils on Kraft cardstock . Loved every minute of it. There's something very relaxing about coloring on Kraft. I love how the layers of color build until you reach the point where everything just kind of "comes to life".
Sketch Challenge
So this week's challenge at Mo's DP2 is a sketch and a very simple one at that so there should be no hang ups. I stuck to it as best as I could. :-) I thought that for once I had followed the rules to a T and then looked at the sketch again and saw flowers on the bottom right. Hmmmmmm Do you think thats interpretational? Cos they metamorphosed into buttons!
Oh! By the way, the paper is DCWV and the paper punch is Martha Stewart. The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons. And the buttons are from Home Sew. Love that place! The frames are Spellbinder's Nestabilities.
I Think that's it.
A few challenges:
Partytime Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Top Tip Tuesday -Wrap it Up with Ribbon
