The Best Present

Hi Guys!
How is everyone today?
I'm bundled up in a sweat suit and fuzzy bathrobe. Complete with the socks in flipflops.
Real attractive, I assure you. lol
Well!
Today's card is a "Day For Daisies" image. So sweet.
I made it for their weekly card game, you can join in here at PCP.
I have used prismacolor pencils to color the image.

And the sentiment which I just thought up and typed out on the computer.

Thanks for coming by for a peek. :-)

Country Chick

Am I ready for summer or what? :-)
This is a first for me. Always exciting.
I have been long admiring these fancy fold cards and after seeing Tine's awesome version (check it out here) ,I knew I had to try it for myself.
Tine passed on a blogger's tutorial to me, you can find it here if you want to have a go yourself.
As you can see, I kept it pretty simple, just in case I had to ditch it in the bin halfway through.

The papers are all digital (another new thing for me, thanks to prodding by fellow bloggy buddy Yenni. Thanks, Yenni! I love it!) and the image is Sarah Kay, colored with distress inks.

So that's what Ive been up to!

Hi Everyone!
SO glad you could come by and visit!
This weeks theme over at Sentimental Sundays is
Let It Snow!
I don't know about you, but I'm getting a little sick of snow and we haven't even had any yet! All this talk of snow in Blogland is making me cold.

Anyway!
I am using an image by Sassy Cheryl which I have colored with Prismacolors. All the Dps are from my stash, the bling is Recollection and the ribbon is Offray.
A close up:

For My Friend

Good morning!
I hope you all are bundled up and comfy. :-)
Today's card I made using a day for daisies digi called "Warm Milk"
Isn't it sweet?
I paper pieced the dress and colored the rest with Prismacolors. The papers are assorted. Some are from the DCWV stack called "Linen closet" ; the striped paper is unknown.
And a close up.
I really should have printed out the dress on copy paper , not cardstock, cos you can see the raised edge but ho hum ...live and learn.

Below is my favorite part. The heart (just free cut with scissors) and stitched onto the paper and the button flower.
the button flower was made using a fabric K&Co button/brad . I pierced the brad through a silk flower and stuck it on with a glue dot.
It's pretty effective, don't you think?
Oh, and the eyelet. Eyelets just dress everything up.

I would like to enter this in:

Sew many cards: digi with flower
Have a great weekend!

WOYWW

I'm afraid it's the commonest sight in our house:
Pencil cases strewn about while I'm in my coloring madness. So in case you've been missing me the last two days that's what I've been up to!
A preview of upcoming cards:

The $5 bill is my daughter's allowance that I didn't get around to handing her yet.( If it was my own it would be spent!)
And a note on these pencils: They keep breaking on me!!!!
Ive just sent Sanford Prismacolor about 5 or 6 pencils to replace and by the time they come back I'll have another dozen to send them.
they're very good about replacing them (and also paying shipping) but its just a pain. I guess the warehouse or whoever I bought them from must have dropped the whole case.
I had a casheir do that to my box of  120 crayons once, she just all butter fingers drops my crayons with little more than a "whoops" and when I called her on it she said "Oh well, they're only crayons."
Well let me tell you she had to wait while I opened the box and inspected them all.

Anywho!
Here's something interesting!
One of our rain barrrels has a lid with a flower pattern on the inside. And when the water froze it made this nice tulip design.

Pretty cool, huh?

Well,  thats the extent of my creativity today. I'll be back tomorrow with a card. :-)
Thanks for visiting guys, and come back and see me, ok?

Card for The Blind

Hi!
Guess what?
I set myself the ultimate challenge today:
Make a card for the blind.
Personally, I would never have thought of doing this but a friend of ours (who is blind) just lost her daughter and I wanted to do something for her but what can you do???
You offer comfort as best you can, but being a cardmaker, I set to making her a card.
I first gathered my most textured items.
I wanted Clara to be able to "see" the card.

My Recipe:
fuzzy hoarstooth paper by Me and My big Ideas
Embossing folders: (Cuttlebug)
Spellbinders nesties and 3 Dimentional sticky pads
Fuzzy ribbon, lacey ribbon, smooth ribbon
Buttons and flowers
and oh yes! Braille!

A close up of the side:

And lower right corner:

And last but not least, my clumsily "pierced" braille, which reads:
"So Sorry"
btw, this is harder than it looks since you need to write it "mirror image" as its the back side that you use.
But trial and error and eventually I had a copy that I hope she can read!

I hope you enjoyed having a look today and thanks so much for coming by!

Dutch Dare ~ Winter Tags

Hi Guys!
This fortnight's challenge at Dutch Dare Card Challenges is Winter themed tags.
I decided to do something a little different with it.
I used  my Dover Japanese Clip art CDrom to get the pictures which I then antiqued with distress ink and mounted on painted and distressed chipboard.
A few blingy gems and soft yarn completed the look.

I hope you can all join in the challenge!
Have a great weekend everyone!
