Sentimental Sundays ~ Anything Goes

Hi All!
You should be very happy to hear that the challenge this week at Sentimental Sunday's is:
Anything Goes
I feel like I should plug my ears and hunker down for the stampede. Its cool that we can do whatever we want  but I think I'll be holed up all week commenting on  the entries! It's ok, you all knock yourselves out and have fun. :-) I'll be ok. If  I go quiet, have my husband have a look at where the computer is ; he might find a  dehydrated skeleton sitting here fingers in the process of typing "thanks so much for joining us at......"
Anyway, I digress....
We are being sponsored by Heart Song Designs and I chose this sweet kitty.
The sentiment is by Raindrop Echo Designs.

Phindy's Place ~ Sketch

Hi all!
This week's challenge at Phindy's is a sketch. I chose this little cutie and colored him with Prismacolors.
The paper is K&Co. And the sentiment just one I printed on the computer.
It's a pretty simple design, not much to it. Not my favorite actually. lol But you can see that I DID finish the inside. So that's something!

I hope you can head over to the blog and see what the others on the team have done as they're far more inspiring than me today. :-)
Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Mo's DP2 Challenge ~ Spring Colors with Handmade Flowers

Hi Everyone!
I'm back with a card for Mo's DP2 Challenge this week which is
 Spring Colors With Handmade Flowers
(and no I didn't choose this theme. lol)
The image is Mo Manning and the sentiment is by the Doodle Pantry.

The papers are DCWV  and K&Co. and the flowers are my own creations. You can see that I crocheted one of them. The others are ones I cannibalized  from big silk bouquets  and reassembled with buttons.
The image I colored with Prismacolors.

So I hope you can play along!

New Purse Box in Inches

Hi Guys!
A few of you have been asking me for the directions to this purse box in INCHES.
As you know, Randi was the person who's directions I used to make my first purse box and she is in Europe and so uses metric measurements. Her directions are excellent so if you use metric by all means check out her site!
Since then I have been working on "adjusting " her  pattern for us "Inchie People"
You can see my complete tutorial in inches here.

Keep in mind that my directions will not make the exact same size purse as Randi's. It will be about an inch larger all around. But I have tried to stay true to the shape as much as I could.

I plan on filling it with candy. I think every craft table needs one!

So there ya go! I hope you can go and have some fun now!
I would like to enter this in:
OLLCB: Pink!
Bunny Zoe: Flowers
The pink elephant: buttons lace and ribbon (buttons are in the flowers on the sides of the purse)

Hi Guys!
Today's challenge at Sentimental Sundays is a photo inspiration:

You can take it as a color inspiration or as a theme inspiration or whatever.

I used the inspiration photo as a color scheme  but also took the water aspect to make a fishing card.
The image is A day for daisies.
Colors: Prismacolors
Paper from my stash
Sentiment: computer generated

And a close up:

You have one week from the start of the clock..so on your mark, get set....CRAFT!

An Ebay Find and An Award

Hey Guys! Look what I found on ebay!
90 full skeins  and 40 partial skeins of embroidery floss for less than $10 (including shipping)! So what do you think of that?? OK, let me translate, so you can fully appreciate this....lol
One skein = one crochet rose or two daisies x 90= uh, 90 roses or 180 daises,
then we have the partial skeins and you're talking one butt- load of flowers!
Let me translate again what this means.....
In two short months or so when I have my blogaversary............
Ah! You guessed it!
Yes, I hear you  telling me now to get busy and make some flowers!

But before I go, I also have some  good news.
Today I recieved a blog award for being so sweet. lol (Don't spit out your coffee!) Or maybe its my blog that's sweet....no, no, I think it was me. lol
So first of all, I want to thank Yenni who passed it on to me, thanks Yenni!

And now I need to tell you all three of the sweetest things ever. hmmmmmm..
Well, my husband can do some pretty sweet things. For instance,
1) if there's one piece of pecan pie left and three of us, he tells us (our daughter and me) to split it and he goes without. Isn't that shweeet?
Lets see...2) man! you know I'm bad at this sort of thing! Ummm..ok, 2) Not long after we were married I got sick with M.E. (CFS). I wasn't able to do much as I was in bed all the time and was home alone alot and 2,000 miles from my family etc so one day he surprised me and took me to a pet shop (where he has already visited so knew what was there) and surprised me by putting a little white  kitten in my arms. He had one blue eye and one green eye and he immediately nuzzled into my neck, purring and we took him home. That was probably the sweetest thing evah cos my husband didn't really want pets.
And 3) when my pet duck Ping disappeared he let me order 5 new ducklings even though he knew I would use our bathtub as a pen for them until they got bigger.(and he isn't crazy about that sort of thing. lol)
OK, enough sweetness! I've got toothache now!

I need to pass this on to three of the sweeest bloggers...
There's a whole lot more than three but here's three that I have never nominated before and who truly deserve it:
Shirley ~ One of the kindest sweetest souls out there
Maria ~ so sweet! You must meet her!
Cheryl ~ Who is the most faithful of all commenters in Blogland. In fact I bet most of you know that well!

I'm going to be good and stick to the rules even though I could add a dozen more easy!
Thanks everyone for your kindness and support!

A Day For Daisies ~ Vintage

So today is my second and last project as GD for ADFD.
The challenge theme this week is:
Vintage
I'm doing a bit of paper piecing on Kraft cardstock and using my prismacolors on the rest.
The paper is K&Co. The punch is Martha Stewart.
The recipe was a cool vintage image that I found just googling vintage recipes. So I printed it out, roughed it up a bit and distress inked the edges. Let me tell you, it looks so real that while it was laying on my table waiting to be assembled, I found myself picking it up very gingerly, forgetting for a moment that it was just normal cardstock. lol

And a close up:

And just a cool little detail below.

So I hope you can play along. You have a whole fortnight to get a project together!

Phindy's Place ~ Monochromatic

Hi  All!
This morning's card is totally out of my comfort zone. The theme this week at Phindy's  is :
Monochromatic
Now, it doesn't have to be black and white or brown and white. Remember monochromatic only means "one color family" so knock yourself out and choose something lively. :-)
But I thought I would challenge myself in making a sepia card.

This image is so sweet and could be used for so many occasions, but I thought it would work really well in expressing sympathy.
This is the card I made for Annika  who lost her mom Jan 22nd.
I wanted to make sure she recieved the card before I posted it, but she's probably got more on her mind right now than scouting Blogland for surprise cards, anyway.
A close up below:

Dutch Dare~ Glitter and Bling

Yuppers! Its me again! :-D
This week's challenge at Dutch Dare is Glitter and Bling. Well you know I'm not a huge glitter user upper and so this card may have you straining at the computer screen looking for the bling. So I'll save your eyes and tell you where it is. :-) Glitter on her scarf and pompoms and candy.
This image was a freebie back in December I think it was at A Day For Daisies. It's super cute.

The papers are assorted from my stash and the sentiment was just typed out on the computer.
The button, I thought, looked good enough to eat, but then I'm partial to buttons.
It might explain my stomach trouble....lol  just kidding.

OK, so that's it for today!
I would like to enter this in :
Color Throwdown: blues and greens
Paper Shelter: buttons and bows
Creative Card Crew: friendship

Look forward to seeing you all around Blogland!

DP2 Challenge ~ Sketch

Hi Guys!
Today's card is unusual for me in that I'm using primary colors. Don't know what's got into me! lol
I think that the girl's shirt just spoke "farm" to me.
(well it could have had something to do with the goats too! :-D)
Anyway, this is a card I made for my neighbor who has moved to a new home across town. Her pets, ie, four donkeys and two goats have stayed here until she can get a pen ready for them. So my daughter (who often has two braids) looks after the animals for her.
This image by Mo Manning  called "Saturday's Child" was perfect!

And speaking of Mo, this week's challenge at Mo's is a sketch. Head over to the DP2 challenge to get the exact sketch but it pretty much looks like this.
The only requirement (other than following the challenge theme or sketch) is of course, to use a Mo Manning image in your creation.
I have used prismacolors to color this and assorted scrap paper in making the card.
The sentiment is computer generated.

I hope you can get to play along!

Today will be  two post day so stay tuned for the Dutch Dare Challenge.
Thanks for coming by!

Purse Box

I guess you can say I hop on to it when I get the urge to make a new project. A few days ago I saw a purse box on Chris' blog and fell in love with it. Of course, hers is far more elegant than mine but a girl's got to start somewhere! Then I saw that on Chris' blog she said that she got the idea from Randi; so I hopped along to Randi's blog. OMGoodness, girls! We're talking serious talent!
Randi has a fab tutorial on making this and other amazing creations so you really ought to check it out.
She's got all the directions and if you live in Europe you should have no trouble. I'm an "inches" girl so it was not without it's frustrations. Mainly the problem was this:
My only metric ruler is about 70 years old and barely legible. Also, it's a multipurpose ruler so its not even centimeters down the whole length but changes to decimeters etc....... aaargh!!
But I'm a determined person. lol

I had much trimming and adjusting to do and its faaaarr from perfect if you look closely but I'm not exactly going to SHOW you the bad angles am I?

I've decorated it pretty simply. It was more of an experiment than anything else. I may make another one sometime later with a bit more wow factor.
Ideally you should have magnetic closures for the sides. I did not, so I scortaped one side and just put a smidgen of tape on the other to hold it in place while I took a picture.

Anyway, that was fun! So thanks ladies for your inspiration!!

Hugs all!

Sentimental Sundays ~ Pink, Red and White

It's me!!!! The little pest again. :-)
Well you've already had a sneak preview of this card as I used this image in three of my tutorials the other week, so it won't have the same wow factor but now you get to see it in its setting. :-)
This week the challenge at Sentimental Sundays is a color challenge:
Yup, you guessed it (seems to be a popular one this Feb)
Red, Pink and White.
Normally I would be loathe to put red and pink together, but this image was perfect. Pink dress, red cardinal and it was done. It just works.
I hope it doesn't look Valentiney cos its not a valentine card, just a friendship card.

Photo inspiration for my card:

Phindy's Place ~ Spring Is On Its Way

Hi All!
This week's challenge at Phindy's is SPRING!!
I dug into my paper packs and used lots of bright springy colors for todays card.
The punches are Martha Stewart and the Paper is mainly DCWV.
The image is Phindy's and the colors Prismacolors.
I did go a little crazy on the stitching but I wanted an applique quilted effect.

Flirty Seniors

Hi Everyone!
This week the challenge at Dutch Dare is "Love Is In The Air". And actually it's not my team's turn to post but we can when we want to anyway and I found this digi by "Make It Crafty" and had to have it. I thought it would make a perfect anniversary card for my parents if I can hold off til July to give it to them (which I doubt.)
I intended a nice sentiment here but that had to go to for lack of room. I'll just have to put in the inside. And oops! You can see that I didn't finish the inside again. Dang! Nevermind. You can trust that I WILL.
 I promise. :-/

I am using papers by "who knows" as they were in my stash but I DO know that I used Prsmacolors to color in the image!

I would like to  enter this in:
Color Dare: Color scheme
Fresh Brewed: Anniversary
Okay! So I think that's it!
Have a great day.
I'll be back when you least expect it! lol

WOYWW

It occurred to me recently that it's been AGES since I've taken part in WOYWW.
So, I decided to play.
Here is the proof of my crochet flower madness. You know, I thought my blogaversary was coming up in March but then when I checked someone must have moved it to May! Dang, I was getting real psyched too!
Being the Ultimate Rule Breaker, I may have some blogaversary candy early. You'll just have to keep your eyes peeled. I'm hoping to have several winners and yes, you can bet there'll be some flowers in there! lol

So that's what's going on here!
Take Care!
