Cuddly Buddly~ A Special Friend

Well I'm back to pester you all with yet another post. You can scroll down for Phiny's challenge card, posted a few hours earlier. I have one more challenge to represent today,

 that of Cuddly Buddly!

So put your feet up and relax a while.

This week's challenge is:

Bright Colors and Butterflies

I'm not a huge butterfly fan (don't hate me) but I did manage to sneak one in there if you closely. :-)

My papers are a hodgepodge, mostly K&Co and DCWV.

Charm was a gift as was the card candy and the sentiment is Scrapalicious.

Of course I'm going to sneak a duck in there whenever possible...but I would never tie a ribbon around a duck's neck, why cover sleek perfection?

I have to say that I'm partial to this card. Its so hippo happy, you gotta love it.

I am using this card as my Catered Crop project this fortnight, you can see the ingredients I've utilized in red below. This week is kinda special cos my blogging buddy Tine has been chosen as Best Recipe. You're My Hero

Hi Guys!

Just a quickie here today; Ive got a thousand things to do so forgive me if I'm a little slow in getting around your blogs. We picked over 20 pounds of blueberries this morning and Ive got to find someway of dealing with them all when I'm done baby sitting this afternoon and "hospice" sitting this evening.

 Anyway!

New $1 Digi by Mo Manning

Hi All!

This post is to let you all know about MO's new $1 digi.  Some of you are aware that periodically Mo makes special digis that she basically "donates" to charity. In the past she has donated to the Make A Wish Foundation as well as Tsunami Relief. Several hundreds of dollars have been raised for these charities and no doubt this one will prove as successful. This time, all proceeds will be going to the Pet Orphans of Southern California.

Vintage Piggy

This week's challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil is:

and guess what? This is the second time I have used this image~ so proof that it can be done! :-)

A few of you have been asking about my ducks. They're doing pretty well. Fibby, my crippled duck, continues to amaze us with how he gets around and manages to keep up with the others. As you can see from the picture below, they're all growing up fast.

These two pictures are of our penned in ducks. We also have four "free range" ducks. At one time we had over a dozen but predators take their toll ~which is why these ones are still in a pen.

My turtle tally is up to 29. Over the weekend (some of you already know) a snapping turtle got one of my white Pekin free range ducks and injured her horrendously. I nursed her all day Friday but she died in the afternoon.I was so upset I redoubled my turtle trapping and caught about 8 in two days. But they've got wise to me and I haven't caught anything but a mud turtle since.

The craziest thing is that Saturday you would have seen me with our huge outdoor grill , grilling chicken and turkey. Why is that crazy? Well first of all,  I'm vegetarian. And I wasn't even cooking it for company or my pets, but as bait to catch turtles. yes, something was definately wrong with that picture!

But one look at the sweet faces below and you would have been doing the same thing.

When Life Hands You Lemons..

Hi!

I just had to make up this card today. This is a new image by Mo Manning which I instantly fell in love with.  You can find it here.

I think its the motion she captured with this image that I love so much or perhaps it reminds me of myself, always trying to make one trip when three would be better. lol Whatever the case, I just adore it.

Lemons: Free cut from cardstock with distress inked edges

And just a tip with Prismacolors:

When you're coloring on Kraft, provided you don't use any blending solution, you can correct mistakes with an eraser. I have found this difficult on normal white cardstock, it leaves smudges. But with Kraft,( I suppose its the texture) you can easily lift color with an electric eraser. I actually had to do this with the hair. The whole head of hair. But it came off perfectly. Thanks Goodness, cos I had left the hair for last and it would have been a disaster to start over again!

Comfort On Difficult Days

I think this bear is really adorable and so useful for both happy cards and cards of encouragement.

Since I seem to need a lot of sympathy cards lately I made this one into the latter.

The layout is just kinda "free-form." lol

This is my first challenge project for Cuddly Buddly and let me tell you a bit how it works...

Cuddly Buddly is an online shop that sells all sorts of goodies and supplies as well as digital stamps and papers.The Design Team works with the digital goods ; and as Cuddly Buddly sells the artwork of seven different artists, each challenge we get to showcase  a different artist in rotation.

So this week it's my turn to showcase

I'm not quite sure what this animal is, a squirrel maybe? Do squirrels have ears? I don't know. I do know  its cute!

Giddy Up and Get Better

Hi Again!

So today is the start of a new scene at Phindy's. Starting today, every first challenge of the month is going to be

  Anything Goes!

 But there's a catch....

We want to see you using your Phindy images. So you can choose any theme but use a Phindy image. (For the rest of the month things will remain as they've always been, we will have our weekly theme as normal and it will remain optional whether you use a Phindy image or not.)

This will give everyone the opportunity to use their Phindy images that may not normally fit into a certain theme. Its free for all! How great is that!

So in saying all that, I have chosen this little cutie and colored him with prismacolor pencils.

My papers are mostly K&Co.

Lighting isn't so great below but you get the idea....
