Cuddly Buddly ~ Cake Fixes Everything

Hi Again!
This is my second post for today so scroll down if you want to see my phindy project.
So today's challenge at Cuddly Buddly is:
Petals and Pearls.

My recipe:
 Papers: K&Co
Dies: Nestabilities
Image: Pachela Studios "Piece of Cake" colored with prismacolors
Flower: cannibalized silk flower
Pearls: Pearl Pen by Viva
Sentiment: TLC
glitter glue , buttons and ribbon from stash

That's all for this weekend!
Happy Crafting!

It's All Good!

So you all probably think I have cake on the brain. Well, what's not to love?
Yesterday's card was cake related and my two cards today are cake related. Didn't plan it that way, it just happened.  Same as that Lemon Layer cake sitting in my fridge right now. I swear I have no idea how it got there! lol One minute I was looking at pictures in the cook book, next thing I knew, poof! My apron was dirty and this cake popped out of the oven!
What the....hey, its all good!

OK! Enough silliness! Phindy would like to see your Die Cuts this week!
My dies are nestabilities and I believe the sentiment is TLC but I wouldn't want to swear on it.
Image is Phindy of course, colored with Prismacolors
Papers are DCWV and the button and ribbon is Sew Sweet.

The Same But Different

So do you feel like you've seen this before??
You have. :-)
See below:

Sometimes you have a card or an image that you just love too much to give away and yet you don't want it to just sit in a drawer either. This is one of them.
I dissected my own card and made a notebook for myself.
I did add a bit of background color to the image:
And the close up of the binding which I covered with ribbons  (most from Sew Sweet)and charms from The charm barn.

The corner is Wild Orchid Crafts and the die is a nestie.
Studs are by recollection.

Challenges:
Amber's Crafts and Stuff - patterned paper
Top Tip Tuesday - Make it girlie
Try It On Tuesday  -  Alter something to give as a gift (does it count when you make it for yourself? lol)

Have a great day!

Something Sweet

Hi Guys!,
I hope you're having a fabby week so far. Note I said FABBY, not FLABBY but of course, if you truly take this card to heart  the latter may be more appropriate. (Or if you come buy and help me eat my two cases of Mallo Cups! lol)
So this week at Mo's Digital Pencil we want you to show us something SWEET, (food related).
This is one of Mo's older images and I don't think Ive ever seen it colored up in my blogging history. So I thought it was time I did!

I am using :
Papers: DCWV
Border punch: Martha Stewart
Sentiment: TLC
Dies: Nesties

I decided to use this card as my Catered Crop Party card. This week we tied so we're casing TWO cards and pooling ingredients from both.

Sooooooo Here is the RECIPE!! You can see the ingredients highlighted in red that I've utilized for my project.

* Colors – red, white, green; blue, gray, kraft
* Stamps and Stickers – strawberries, sentiment, aliens/monsters, scientists
* Patterns – circles, checked/gingham; scallops
* Color Mediums – markers (ProMarker, Copics, White Signo Pen)
* Embellishments – clear gloss, glitter, charms, brads, ribbon
* Tools – corner rounder punch, border punch, die cut shapes
* Techniques – faux stitching, doodling/drawing, make an easel card
* Theme – birthday, just hello/because

Our sponsor this round is Lil' Inker Designs. She makes the most adorable stamps sets and matching die cuts for pinwheels, rainbows/clouds, and sentiment flags. Here's her link

http://shoplilinker.blogspot.com/

One random winner will get to pick a die cut and stamp set from her store. Sweet!

Have a great day everyone!

Watermelon Girl

Hi Guys!
Today's project is "just for fun". Love those kind!
Stacey fell in love with this digi some time ago and so I set to making her a little notebook so she could enjoy the picture a little longer than she could in a card. One of those so-called "useful" gifts.
The pic is a bit blurry, sorry. (I took the pic last week when we were still missing some light bulbs)
The image is, of course, by Mo Manning, colored with prismacolors on Kraft.
The ribbons, buttons, and button twine are all by Sew Sweet.
Border punch is Martha Stewart and the paper is DCWV.

Thanks for looking!!

Fly Away With Me

OK, so as cute as this little bug is, I officially hate this card. LOL
Stacey was crafting with me the day I made this and she saw my mood plummet with every new strip of purple paper.
There was nothing I could do for this project, everything I grabbed made it worse, so i had to just let bad enough alone. Stacey reminded me of my last pink/purple card that came very close to being binned by me. Seems I just don't "do" that color combo well. lol
Oh well. It is what it is...
I'm rewarding myself with my second mallow cup right now, just for having to look at it.  Lucky for me I have one or two stashed away....lol It's not as easy as it seems typing with one hand while my left holds the dripping yummy and mans the shift button.

Ok, so the cute little fly digi is by Whimsy And Stars
Now just what color is a housefly? Black? Blue? Green?
I went with blue cos, well, what the heck?  She's a bluebottle!
The ribbons are from Sew Sweet.
Image is colored with prismacolors on Kraft cardstock with a bit of glitter glue for the wings.
The sentiment I typed in word and printed it directly underneath the image.

That's it for today!

Mo Babies

Hi Guys!
This is going to be a picture heavy post so be forewarned.
It's all Mo's fault though so you can blame her. :-)
A friend of mine asked me to make a boys baby card for her latest grandchild about to be born and wouldn't you know it, I had given away all my boy cards a month or so ago?
So there I was thinking what am I going to do when Mo suddenly goes into baby production!
I was spoiled for choice and couldn't decide so I made four. lol
Today I am showing you three of them.

How cute is this little squirt?
My Recipe:
Papers: assorted
Sentiment: TLC
Image: Mo Manning
Banner Dies: Whimsy

And next up is Biker Babe!
He reminded me of Fonzie so Happy Days seemed appropriate.

For those of you who don't know Fonzie:
(see the resemblance?)
OK, the hair is a little different. But this is 2011. Is it 2011? Or 2012? I don't know I lose track)
Frankly, I never watched the show but young boys always imitated him, much to their mother's annoyance.

Ok! The paper is assorted once again,
image: Mo Manning
Mesh: from stash
Heart brad: from stash

To me the kid looks a little not impressed to be dressed up  like this!
It's time for parents to stop living through their kids!

And finally The Stinker. I mean The Thinker! lol
I love the image but am not loving this card at all!

Paper: DCWV
Scrolly Die: Sizzex
Image: Mo Manning

Look at that shweeeeet wittle face!
Who would believe he could make such a pong!

So which one did my friend choose? None of them! LOL
She chose a fourth card which you'll have to wait to see as it fits an upcoming DT project. :-)
Sorry-o and all that.
Happy Crafting!

2 Of A Kind

Hi!
Today I've got a CAS card for you. Well. its CAS to me! I know there's too many layers to be technically called CAS but oh well, a girl's got to live a little. :-)
This week's challenge at Phindy's is:
2 Of A Kind
This can mean two buttons, two images, two ribbons, whatever.

I have two buttons and two friends, so I qualify, see?
The papers are DCWV and the ribbon and buttons are both from Sew Sweet.
I have used prismacolros on Kraft cardstock once again, its my comfort blanket right now so you'll see a lot of it in the coming days.

Remember Phindy is having a DT call so be sure to check it out and tell your friends!
Have a great weekend and stay safe in this heat!

Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures

So, like Samson of old , in a weak moment I revealed to you all in a previous post the source of my creative genius :
Mallow Cups.
Problem is, I risk losing all mojo as the one franchise that sold them is "closing them out".
Calamity!
50% off, No more MALLOWS!
 NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Guys, this is serious! How can they do this to me???

I have only one thing I can do.
Simply put,  I have to go to all Kangaroo gas stations and buy up their mallow cups.
I will admit I get looks of "puh-leeze" from many cashiers but some true smiles of sympathy from others. It is a little embarrassing walking into a store, going straight for the candy bars and grabbing the whole box, but like I said, deperate times call for desperate measures.
I have about 35 individual packs as we speak. If I ration myself very carefully I could make that last what? 35 weeks? And by then they'll probably be out of date sooooooo...
thanks goodness for chocolate covered blueberries!!

I sure wish you could all taste them, they're heaven in a handful. And hey, If you don't live anywhere near central North Carolina you just might be able to find a Kangaroo that I haven't been in yet  and buy one or two.
But from one girlfriend to another.... buy the box!

Summer Vacation

Hi again!
I'm back with a new challenge for you from Mo's Digital Pencil.
This week the theme is:
Summer Vacation

I'm using a hodgepodge of papers from my stash.
The image is Mo Manning
Colors: Prismacolors on Kraft cardstock
The sentiment ticket is Whimsy
A close up:

That's it for today!
Happy Crafting!

Peaches

Hi Friends!
This has to be one of my favorite Mo images. I know. You hear that a lot. lol But there's just something really special about this one. I would have a hard time choosing between the Peach girl and the Lemon girl. Both are so dreamy.
Anyway!
This was my first attempt at an altered notepad. Sometimes, you know, you take such a long time coloring an image that it's almost a shame to put it on a card. So this is a nice alternative.

The artsy fartsy view:

My Recipe:
Digi: Mo Manning. It's called "Peaches:" and can be found here.
The papers are mainly DCWV
The gorgeous ribbon, button and bakers twine can all be found at Sew Sweet Store.
The metal fancy corner is from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I would like to play along with a few challenges:

Deep Ocean Challenge -   Ribbons
Paper Playtime -- Summer
Stamps R Us - Through the garden gate
Dream Valley Challenges - Summer theme

Thanks for visiting!

Hi Guys!
Well we're nearing the end of the current team's 6 month term and Phindy is out looking for new recruits!
The term would run from Sep-Feb and before I get into all the gobbledeegook can I just say that if you're one of the fortunate ones who make the team, you can not find a friendlier, sweeter team to work with. And Phindy is above and beyond generous. I have digis that I haven't even colored up yet that would probably last me another 6 months, she spoils us rotten!
OK! So this is the deal:

What is in it for you?
You will get a generous allowance of digis from the Phindy’s Place shop to work with each month, more than enough for each month’s challenges
You will receive an additional discount on designs from the Phindy’s Place shop
You will get the fun of working with brilliant designs, sometimes before their release to the public and be part of a close-knit and  friendly team

If you would like to apply, please email Anne at raypack@btinternet.com with the following information:

Your blog address
Links to any online galleries of your work
Photos of 3 cards/projects that you feel are typical of your work

Whimsy And Stars~ Many Thanks

Hi Everybody!
I hope you all had a pleasant weekend:-)
We were out picking blueberries again this morning, picked about 35 pounds, that will be it for the year, its our third time picking and I'm just about about chiggered out.
(For those of you who don't know what chiggers are, they're a mite that lives in tall grass and berry patches. check out the pictures at the end of this post)

Anyway!
THis is a really cute digi by Whimsy And Stars . You can find this sweetie right here.
Ive colored her with my usual prismacolors on Kraft cardstock.
The papers are DCWV and the punch is Martha Stewart.
The ribbons, buttons and button thread are all from Sew Sweet. Gotta love that place, this stuff is gorgeous to work with!

OK, so back to the chiggers. here's an up close picture of the red devil!

And here's what they do!
(btw, this is not my leg, I shave mine. lol)

They itch like crazy and last a long time.
It's the price we pay for berries. :-)

Trudy The Paper Doll

Hi All!
Most of you who are on PCP or FB will have seen this freebie Mo had up for a week or so.
I thought it was a great challenge and brought be back to my childhood playing for endless hours with paper dolls .It was one of my favorite things to do but whenever I suggested it to my sister on one of those "check yes or no" notes she always checked No with added exclamation marks
Don't worry, I would cry and eventually she would have to play cos Mum would make her.
Thanks Mum!
Now I had an unwilling playmate who couldn't wait to  "kill off" the characters. And you know with paper dolls ...well lets say she was none too gentle.
Remember that evil kid next door on Toy Story???

OK, so I paper pieced the dresses and colored on them a bit with Prismacolors to add dimension.
The papers are K&Co. And the flowers are scavenged silk flowers with buttons stuck on.
Bakers twine is from Sew Sweet.

 A couple of challenges
Pixie Dust Studio - - girly girly
Divas by Design - #6 pastels

Bye For Now!
