Stepsisters

Hi Guys!
Today I am merging two DT projects in one. Over at Mo's DP2 we have the theme:
Buttons and Bows
and at Dutch Dare we have:
Distressing

I didn't go overboard with the distressing, I mainly just roughed up the edges of the image a bit. And then used some distress ink on the sentiment.
The image is of course, Mo manning and I've colored it with prismacolors.

The sentiment is a common one that I just typed out on the computer. You can grab it below if you'd like to.

I think that's it!
I would like to play along with a few challenges  before I go:
Creative Belli: Sewing, buttons etc
Claudia and Co: Pink, yellow, green
Make It Monday: Anything Goes
There's magic in the Air: Pink yellow and green
Catered Crop: PP, Children, Buttons and ribbon
Allsorts: For a special lady (my sister)
Papercrafting Journey: For the ladies
Shelly's image: Get Punchy

Have a great day guys and I'll be back tomorrow with a project for Phindy's Place!
Take Care :-)

Meet Kate and Ashley

Hi Everyone! I'm Kate! I'm Ashley! LOL
Ok, so you all need to have mercy on me. This is the first crochet pattern I've done that make something 3 dimentional. It was a bit daunting and there were places that I had to rip out more than once but overall it came out quite good, I think. The hardest part is actually sewing all the bits together without making it look like a duck version of Frankenstein.
As you can see, some parts are a little strange but I like to say that Ashley just had a few collagen injections. :-)
My inspiration came from Tamara's wonderful blog. She does marvelous things with yarn, you gotta check her out sometime. Just don't compare her lovely ducks with mine. lol Remember I'm new and you gotta be nice. :-)
Oh! By the way, if you'd like to make this pattern, you can find it for free here
OK, back to cards!

Sentimental Sundays~ Cute and Cuddly

Hi Guys!
Are you having a good weekend? Gettting any time to craft? Or are some of you still shoveling snow?
The challenge this week at Sentimental Sundays is an easy one:
Cute and Cuddly
Now some of you may take exception to my duck card and say that there's nothing cuddly about a duck but I can assure you otherwise! Why just a few days ago I was feeding my ducks and one of my big white Pekings just flew into my arms! It was very sweet and cuddly of him. Unfortunately this display of affection caught both of us off guard and we both sort of shrieked/squawked  and jumped back.
Awwwww....

So anyway! My recipe:
Image: Penny Black
Colorants: Prismacolors
Papers: DCWV
ribbon and buttons: from my stash

Here's a close up of the sentiment:

That's it for today!
I would like to join in on these challenges:

Creations By Gill: pets (yes, ducks are pets!)
Totally Gorgeous: Spring Has Sprung
Alphabet Challenge: U for things that go up in the air (birds go up, yes?)
Fairy Fun: Spring

Yes, more Tissue Boxes

Yes, I know I know, you're sick to death of tissue boxes!!! Well I will be too if I keep at it!
I think I'm done, for now. OK, well maybe one more for my mum.....
Anyway, can't remember who does this gorgeous safari embossed and glittery paper but I think it made a pretty awesome tissue box. Each side is individual and I purposely did NOT use the snake picture cos some people are funny like that. Oh wait, there might be a bit of his tail on the lid....whoops

Anyway, here's a few views of the other sides:
(and btw, that smudge is part of the distresssing on the paper, I did NOT have chocolatey fingers!)

Not quite sure what this animal is (below) but he's pretty exotic, right?

And one more! This one is more feminine but in my opinion less interesting.
No snakes to be seen. lol

OK, no more tissue boxes! That's it for today. :-D
My safari box fits these challenges:
ONe Stitch At A Time: Something For The boys
Shannons Sentiments: Unusual Fold
Delicious Doodles: A 3 Dimentional Project
Sugar Creek Hollow: Anything Goes
Paper Pretties: Masculine
Allsorts: Make a gift box
Gingerloft: Diecuts or punches (in lid of box)

Thanks for visiting!!

Phindy's Place / Hot Stuff, warm colors/sunshine

You know, some cards you just like right off the bat. This is one of them. It comes out like you were expecting it to and you're happily grunting to yourself.:-)
One of the first cards I ever saw of Annika's was using this same digi, in fact she sent me the card which I treasure. You can see it here. I think it was from back when she was on Phindy's DT. Love it!

Anyway, the papers are DCWV and the sentiment is a freebie from TLC
The sun is hand crocheted. ( a little secret: I was trying out a new flower crochet pattern and couldn't quite get it so the flower idea got ditched and I now have a sun. lol)
The punches are Martha Stewart. And the coloring (which is pretty mediocre today. Sorry!) was done with prismacolors.

A little close up of my flower  uh, I mean SUN!

Oh and did I mention what the challenge is this week at Phindy's? I don't think so! It's:

You Know Spring Is Here When...

I am Sooo excited!
Nothing's more fun than receiving a box in the mail except this: thinking you haven't got a package and then having your mail lady turn around and honk the horn! I could kiss her! (and I am most definately NOT the kissy type!)
As excited as I am you would think this box is from Joann Crafts or something but it's not~ As you see the writing says LIVE EMBRYOS!!
And that means EGGS and EGGS Mean DUCK BABIES!!!

OKay, they DO look a little cacky and that's cos they well, technically, uh, well they ARE!
But they just come out that way and you shouldn't wash them if you're going to hatch them cos the shells are porous and you can introduce bacteria and kill the fetuses if you clean them.
So we leave their little messy bottoms.:-)

And below is my latest baby- sitting- money- aquisition:
An incubator!
Complete with automatic egg turner.

So that's my exciting news for the day!
I will let you know how my babies progress. Full gestation is 28.5 days, so when they start pecking I'll take more pictures. :-D

Brothers

Hi Guys!
Well I'm pulling double duty this week with this card, combining two challenges and using it for both my DT sample for MO's  Digital Pencil whose theme this week is:
For The Boys
and Dutch Dare , which is a sketch:
The image is, of course, by  Mo Manning and the papers are assorted from my stash.
The pin is Tim Holtz and the baker's twine is from "The Twinery". Some cool stuff, right there! :-)

And the usual close up:
I have to say I am not crazy about picking out my papers before I color. See, this is what happens. You have an image with a VERY limited color palette. I felt QUITE cramped! NOT FUN! As you can see, I had to throw the red (in his shoes) in there just to spite convention! lol

So that's it from me today!
I really appreciate all you guys stopping in to visit and leave encouragement. I have the BEST group of followers EVAH! You guys are really deserving some FAB blog candy! Shame I don't have any. lol
No, hang on...I may have some bits layin around somewhere.... now where did I put those.....so when is my blogaversary anyway??  Stacey! Help!!

Challenges:
The Crazy Challenge: eyelets or bradz
Incy Wincy: For the boys
OLLCB: Its a man thing
CES: Men only
Fairy Tale: For a child

So!
Yet another wee babbie has been born at Phindy's!
This one is called "Lover Babbie".
I am using digital papers and have colored the babbie with prismacolors.
The scrolly die is a Nestability.

He's pretty cute, right?
So go by the store and check out the other babbies, (Phindy is really popping them out over there, must be doing In Vitro Fertilization. lol)
Kinda reminds me of a little video clip a year or two ago...

Cracks me up every time!
