Friends /WOYWW

Hi Guys!
I'm in a better mood today. :-) Know why? New technique, that's why!
I wish I could say I thought of it myself, but I didn't, but that's ok.The main thing is that I have something new to occupy myself!  I found out about this technique while going through my blog updates a few days ago. A talented girl named Judy is going to be doing a class on coloring on Kraft. You can check out her blog here.

I never thought I would be buying Kraft. In fact, I've seen it for some time in the stores and thought "what is the world coming to when they want you to buy brown paper bags? Hello? This is just cardboard is it not?" Well, it is and it isn't. Its cardstock thickness (not cardboard) and its the texture of a brown paper bag. So when it comes to laying down color on it, it has more "tooth" so it can take more layers than your typical white cardstock.
It's pretty exciting. I haven't had that rush of crafting contentment in a long time~ :-)
It almost turns your prismacolors into pastels or chalk. Its an entirely different effect than normal paper.

My recipe:
papers: DCWV and Kraft
Image: Mo Manning
Colors: Prismacolors
Ribbon: Offray
Flowers: Recollection
Sentiment: Stampin Up

A close up:

And some details:

And this part below is for the folks over at the Stampin Ground who want to see our messes today! This was my card in progress...(partially cleaned up now)

As you can see from the picture below, Ive printed out more images on Kraft so you can expect to see more Krafty goodness in the coming posts. (til I get sick of it and move on to something else!)

And as for the card, I would like to enter it in the following challenges:
Stamptacular Sunday: BFF~ Buttons, flowers, friendship
Simon Says: 3 embellies, 2 dp, 1 image (I might have one or two more...)
ABC Challenge: F is for flowers

Thanks for all your support guys, your sweet words and support mean a lot to me.

It's great Dorcas, and amazing how good the brown looks on the card. It does look like pastels, I wonder how pastels themselves would work on it. I'll have a look at the site you've linked. Cute image and your colouring is perfect of course. Hugs Lin

I must poke fun first then commend! "Why would anyone want to buy Kraft it is just a paperbag!" LOL See there are uses for it! OK that is out of my system. The card is adorable! It looks great on Kraft! Sounds fun! Glad you have your mojo back and something that makes you happy. Your cards are great no matter what!

Hi Dorcas. Why what a prolific crafter you are. No sooner is my back turned and there is another card! Fab card it is too, mind you. I had never heard of, or seen, the Kraft you mention. Sounds interesting though....

OK, firstly - your colouring on kraft is WHOA!!! So lovely I think I shall play with it when I get a chance. Secondly - at least you have a store there that sells kraft ... no such luck here. The downside of living in total sticks, I guess.

I am so jealous of you Dorcas! Your colouring is like nothing I have ever seen. This is amazing and I am wondering if you can shade and highlight with this. I thought it was a sticker at first glance because it was clean, crisp, and clear. Like something out of a printed story book. You are da boom Ma Lady! Can I come over for tea and you can teach me how you do this. Lol!

This card has inspired me to invent a new word: "ADORBEAFUL!" Thats "adorable" and "beautiful" mashed-up.

lovely color contrasting. just magnificent...Thanks for joining the rest of the "BFF" gang at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!

p.s. I use A LOT of kraft colored papers and card stock. Much of my work is nature inspired and kraft is very "natural." I'm sure someone as creative as you will most likely find OODLES of ways to use it!

Wow- fab colouring, whatever the technique. I've always liked Kraft, but end up being a bit formulaic with it - you know - naturals and ginghams, so to see you incorporate it like this is marvellous. Viva you and WOYWW!

I have no idea what the technique is you used, but your coloring is lovely. I've also never used Kraft, but sometimes use old paper bags from the grocery, which look very much like that. I was actually here earlier, but got that dreaded 503 error. Just came back to wish you a happy belated WOYWW (#2).
